Abstract

Mazurca para dos muertos (1983; Mazurka for Two Dead Men,1992), La cruz de San Andres (1994), and Madera de boj (fall 1999) are the three novels which this study terms Cela's "Galician triptych." Written over the course of two decades, and featuring completely different characters, timeframes, and locales, they may seem unlikely candidates to comprise a tripartite novelistic series.
