Puerto Rico: una perspectiva histórica a través de la ficción ferretiana
Abstract
En la novela Maldito Amor de Rosario Ferré se destaca el uso de diferentes narradores y receptores. La novela se divide en ocho partes con diferentes títulos que paralelamente se colocan a la historia que está escribiendo don Hermenegildo, uno de los personajes relacionado con la familia sobre la cual gira la narración. Don Hermenegildo además de narrador también es receptor de los eventos que acontecen a la familia De la Valle. A lo largo de la novela aparecen otros cuatro narradores presentando diferentes versiones sobre la herencia y el destino de! ingenio azucarero, la Central Justicia que ha pertenecido a la tamilia por varias generaciones. Las distintas explicaciones de los narradores sobre la central azucarera proporcionan al lector diversas interpretaciones de la historia, al mismo tiempo que se le entera del acontecimiento de Ia industria del azúcar en Puerto Rico a principios del siglo XX.
