La alabanza y el desinterés en la lírica laudatoria de Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz
Abstract
La lírica laudatoria en castellano, dedicada a la realeza y a otras figuras políticas, en gran parte se basa en el modelo bucólico de Virgilio. De la alabanza al campo se pasa a la alabanza a Dios y de ahí a los elogios y propaganda políticos. El lenguaje elogiador exagerado en los romances de Sor Juana dedicados a los virreyes, los Marqueses de la Laguna, se sitúa dentro de esta tradición, tambien conocida como literatura panegírica. Por un lado, ella participaba en una corriente literaria y social. En su "Autobiografía espiritual" intenta explicar estos poemas como muestras de obediencia, el cumplimiento de un encargo. Ahora bien, se sabe que la relación entre Sor Juana y los Marqueses de la Laguna no se limitó a una mera obediencia. Los virreyes fueron sus grandes mecenas. La cuarta parte de los 216 poemas en sus Obras completas esta dedicada a los virreyes y su virreinato (1680-1688) marca el periodo literario más fecundo de Sor Juana (Paz 248-49).
