David Trueba's Saber perder
Abstract
En los años noventa comienza la polifacética carrera cinematográfica de David Trueba (Madrid, 1969) como guionista, directory actor. Su primera incursión en el terreno de la literatura será la novela Abierto toda la noche (1995), pero será Cuatro amigos (1999), su segunda novela, la que recibirá un amplio reconocimiento de público y crítica. Saber perder, su tercera y última novela hasta la fecha, ha recibido el Premio Nacional de la Crítica de 2008 - uno de los galardones literarios mas prestigiosos de España - lo que confirma definitivamente a David Trueba como un escritor a tener muy en cuenta en el tercer milenio. Algunas de las características comunes de su novelística serían, grosso modo, el uso de varios personajes importantes que comparten el mundo ficcional, la habilidad para reproducir las expresiones coloquiales y el lenguaje oral, la representación de la sociedad contemporánea española y un toque tragicómico donde se complementan humor y reflexión existencial.
