Entrevista a Fernando de Prado, promotor del proyecto de la localizacion y la identificacion de los restos mortales de Miguel de Cervantes
Abstract
A finales del pasado mes de abril, un georradar sondeo el subsuelo de la iglesia del convento de las Trinitarias Descalzas de Madrid, Espana, con el proposito de hallar la localizacion exacta de los restos mortales alli enterrados. Existe el convencimiento de que, en alguno de los nichos y tumbas halladas, se encuentran los huesos de Miguel de Cervantes, quien recibio cristiana sepultura en el templo primitivo que dicha orden religiosa, la que lo libero de su encarcelamiento en Argel, levant6 en el famoso barrio de las Letras. Las heridas que el celeberrimo escritor sufri6 durante la batalla de Lepanto podrian ser la clave en la identificacion de sus restos. Para Fernando de Prado, promotor de este proyecto, no hay mejor manera de celebrar el cuarto centenario de! fallecimiento de la figura mas relevante en la historia de la literatura en espafzol.
