Sangre, tambores y vudú: convergencia del prólogo y la narración como alegoría de lo real-maravilloso en El reino de este mundo
Abstract
Uno de los primeros problemas que nos plantea El reino de este mundo, atendiendo a su composición textual, es cómo catalogar el contenido narrativo desde el punto de vista formal. ¿Dónde termina el prólogo?, ¿Dónde comienza la narración de los hechos de la obra en su función semántico-funcional? Ambas partes quedan claramente delimitadas con respecto a la división bipartita en la novela. Sin embargo, su significado global nos lleva a replantear si las dos partes del libro se refieren a separar el contenido de las mismas, además de la estructura, o por el contrario, responden a una intención unificadora. Carpentier convierte la ficción en instrumento para acercar el descubrimiento antropológico que resulta de su viaje a Haití.
