Lituma en los Andes: Optimismo escondido
Abstract
Después de su derrota en las elecciones presidenciales en el Perú en 1990, Mario Vargas Llosa escribe su primer libro sobre la cultura quechua-hablante, Lituma en los Andes. Según la crítica contemporánea corriente, este libro muestra el desastre ineludible de un Perú ahogado en la violencia de los 80 y 90. Sin embargo, al contrario que la mayoría de la crítica sobre la novela, propongo probar que Vargas Llosa sí deja una solución a la violencia del pais en su tratamiento del mito de Dionisio, específicamente cuando el pasado irracional y el presente racional se fusionan. Este espacio nuevo unifica el espacio indígena del pasado con el espacio moderno capitalista y representa la esperanza de una nación desilusionada.
